Hello all!!!!

This is my build process and I hope you get to enjoy this magnum opus kit faster than I do!! Zvezda really blew the doors off with this release and imho sets new industry standards for both high levels of detail and fit of parts. Enjoy, cheers, ect Jeff

Some more painting this AM. I'm starting with cockpit-all separate controls, surfaces ect and MM Acryl RLM 66 is the color. And yes, a pilot does go in the tub and over that horrific ejector mark. Guess who swore up and down to never paint a figure before the age of 60.

Looks one hell of a kit Jeff. As this is for the Group Build, I will move it into the GB 'Under Construction' section.

Hello all:

I've just completed the cockpit and these are various pictures of the included pilot and rough test fitting. After dry-brushing Citatdel chainmail acrylics I ended up spraying a coat of Klear\Future before applying raw umber oil paint wash followed up with MM flat lacquer. Now, the question remains if I'm using the gorgeous IP or use the decal. I'm going to pose this flying so most details will be obscured. Take care and have a great weekend! Jeff

Hi Jeff, just looked through your gallery, looks really good, look forward to see the finished item. I bought the Zvezda Lagg FA5N and I can confirm the detail on their later kits is brilliant for the price. The instruction sheet is well ??? or have they improved.

Best regards Gareth.

Talking of Zvezda kits .....

I got hold of the Revell 1/72 Mil 26 Halo at Coventry. I've been browsing through the net looking for reviews and came across one for a Zvezda Halo in the same scale. On looking closer, there are massive similarities between this one and the Revell one I bought. I don't have any problems with the Revell version, it came at a reasonable price and the quality and fit looks very good (I have no idea about it's accuracy when compared to the original - I don't count rivets!).

I just wondered, with all the swapping and changing that goes on between the various manufacturers nowadays, does anyone know if it's the same kit?
