Good evening everyone,
20180617_164140_resized.jpg
Just showing a side-project I just completed, been working on this one for the past two months and somehow never got around to launch a build-tread for it.
Got the kit cheap as the previous owner liberated the railroad parts from it, no problem as it seemed a fine challenge to build some of my own.:smiling4:
Mainly started it as some ground based fun and to test out some Vallejo paints for German vehicles in WWII.

Parts are ex.Dragon I think as they are very well detailed and fit very good for their age, built up in a couple of evenings:smiling::

Some plaster and made the railroad from Evergreen I-beam, strip and some basswood:

Vallejo 71.019, 71.025 and 71.271 for the main colours freehanded:hugging-face::

Building up the groundwork, cheap artist paints as a base followed by a mix of railroad ballast around the wooden beams:

Testing the lay-out of the figs and horse:

The painted guy was from the scrap pile re-worked to have a new look, the others are Tamiya's Wehrmacht mounted infantry set and although old they are still very nice.
Finished the Kommandowagen with some detail painting and AK's OEF/OIF wash and streaking effects.
Figures were painted with Tamiya colours and Revell enamels for the details, added some grass, green foam and muddy water to finish the base and voila:

All in all a nice fun project at some creativity and it didn't cost a lot too.:nerd:

Thanks for looking in and as usual all comments are welcome.

Nice Fernando.
Think the track looks good using the Evergreen .Of course your builds are always so clean,I wonder if you really do use glue sometimes .:smiling2:

Nicely done Fernando. Your tracks look a lot better than the kits.

Thanks for the great comments everyone.:thumb2::thumb2:
Peter, the wheels were luckily still in the kit:smiling4:, just the sprue containing the railroad dio parts was gone.
Kelly, if I'm correct these were designed to be railroad recon and anti-partisan vehicles and connected to armored trains to be extra muscle in contested area's.

Great paint job on the Wagon Fernando.

We had some similar armoured wagons used by the British during the '50s Malayan Emergency.

Cheers,
Richard
