Morning all,

Some of you may remember a few builds that I’ve been doing and the start of a diorama...not something I’m particularly good at.
I keep starting other projects and it keeps getting side lined, so before I tackle anything else I’m going to get this one moving.

The vehicles will be.....a Pz II J ( vk1601) a well armoured recon vehicle

Opel blitz with a sled mounted flak gun.....

A couple of chaps already well into painting....

The base itself. I knocked up a frame and added a thin layer of Sculptamold for texture. I’ll add various length grass etc as I build it up.

A miniart shed that I stumbled on in the stash and a couple of wire framed trees under construction still

The shed is supposed to have a partly broken wall, but I’ve chosen to repair that so filled it and had started to scribe in the bricks.

So there’s all the bits so far. Wish me luck as I attempt to make a reasonable dio.
All comments, tips, advice and abuse are thoroughly welcomed :smiling4:
Cheers
Si

Nice work Si. I do like those trees you're doing. Can we have some more piccies of them?
Jon.

Hi Si
Great looking vehicles and the dio itself is off to a good start. I'll bet it will be a cracker.

Morning all,

Great to have you fine folks looking in. Don’t expect anything amazing though....although I’ve done a handful of small scale bases, this size is pushing my comfort zone!

A late night and early morning and I’ve pushed on to get this far....
Finished working on the rear wall and gave it a prime and base colour.
I used Vallejo air through the airbrush, used there own brand flow improver and I had zero problems for the first time:smiling4:

Using my home made static grass applicator I got some 6mm and 12mm grass down.....a bit too green and I have some where I don’t want it but that’s easily taken care of. Extremely happy my applicator actually worked:thumb2:

Thanks for looking in....all comments welcome.

Very nice work Si. Glad to see the grass applicator worked well. Looking forward to seeing the 24 blackbirds in the tree:tongue-out3:

Yep the grass sits nicely Si ! It looks very natural. A quick passing with the airbrush and less vibrant green paint and it'll look spot on.

Hi Peter, very simple thing. In the junction box is a negative ion generator....one wire goes to workpiece and the other connects up to wire mess on the pot with brown wire. The pot is filled with grass and shaken over the glue on your workpiece.....simple 5E5545EA-2A90-463B-8593-F4BCAD1DCE2D.jpeg

I got the idea from YouTube....Luke towan a very talented modeller. Here’s a video with the proper version.
I’ll find the second part for you

Here is the second part for the video...

He makes a cracking job of his. I just tweaked the design to suit what I could get hold of cheaply:smiling4:

Si your grass applicator seems to work well

I paid a fortune for a 'proper' Noch one and not getting results as good with 12mm
