| | Guest | Ford Anglia I have been looking for over a year now to find a '00' Ford Anglia for my Yorkshire based layout.
I was hoping if at all possible to find one in the old blue and white police car livery (like the ones in the TV programm Heartbeat)
I have serached everywhere for over a year now and I have found absolutely nothing. Not even a normal '00' Ford Anglia yet alone the police version!
Does anyone know of a place which may supply one? It's driving me spare! | |

| You need to get to a swop meet Jon,Wyatt & Tizzard did a small white metal kit for the Ford Anglia, also Matchbox did a small scale one,do a search on E-bay they crop up now and again, prices vary dependent on the condition, happy hunting.

| What happened to Pete Watermans interest in the railway around that area ? we went up to travel on the Flying Scotsman about 9 years ago but the engine was unserviceable and we travelled on a stand in engine instead, lovely scenery and everyone was cashing in on the 'Heartbeat' connection with books and souvenirs etc,he had hundreds of pieces of rolling stock just lyeing in sideings everywhere, just love those sort of scenes which no doubt you will portray on your railway Jon.
The TV series certainly captures that magic period better than anything else,a much slower pace of life altogether in those days gone by.
I think that you could not have picked a better subject to build as a model project, plenty of scope there.

| | All Round Modeller | Shame u didn't ask me back in 1980...I had loads of these with my original Triang-Hornby trains...yes some of them were Triang Trains before Hornby took them over...I had loads of stuff including two car transporters full of Ford Anglias in Various colours.
Sold the lot to move into Radio Controlled Models...who'd have guessed I would be flying R/C Heli's just 4 years later...??? (Still do....... to this day)

| | Guest | GASP! Ford Anglia Heaven!
The lack of this particular car is a crime, I'm sure there are many other people just pining for a good old Ford Anglia to finish their layout!
BTW: thanks for the link wowbagger! It might help me pinpoint a specific company that made one I need!

| | All Round Modeller | Stop/Press...!!! I have just remembered that there is a small model shop near me who specialises in trains and of course the rest of the stuff to go with the layouts...including the old cars, buildings & Scenery etc
Not sure if he does mail order but worth giving him a try.
He's an old bloke that runs the shop by himself and is certainly friendly enough.
Try him, the shop is Clwyd Models & Hobbies, 447 Abergele Road, Old Colwyn, Conwy, North Wales. Tel 01492 518709.
Regards........Mark. |

| | Hi I'm New | Hi jonr1234 I guess by now you have found a ford anglia for your layout but if not i have purchased a couple via e-bay.They are made by lesley which as you know became matcbox toys.If you are lucky you can pick them up for anything between £1-£4 but they often need stripping and repainting which is what i did.I handpainted the cars with permanent acrylic paint which surprislingly came out very good.Hope this helps.Regards jacko1 Quote: |

| I went to the North York Moors a couple of years back and on the way back from the Railway ran into a lot of vehicles parked up alongside the road at dusk, police etc.
Not wanting to be accused of being a rubberneck or anything...I parked up and hand a nose at what the crowd was doing there. Sure enough it was an episode of Heartbeat being filmed, so I stuck around for a bit and watched a particularly fascinating tee where some guy was making tea around a campfire.
After speaking to some people in the crowd...it appears as some members of the public spend two weeks a year of their anual holiday following the filmcrew around and standing about watching them film...it takes allsorts I guess!
I tried my best to watch the upcoming series on tv...but it was so dull I could only make it through the first 5 minutes of the opening titles!
