hello friends,
i have a diorama project in progress ("Ardennes") and i want to scratch build a bunker but i have no idea how to any suggestions/web sites you can suggest? any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello Tyler, I did a couple of scratch built bunkers for our recent G.B. 'Normandy'....If you go to my pages and look for my 'Omaha Beach' dioramas (or go direct to the Group build forum) I have posted the build process on there. These are both figments of my imagination, but might be of some use to you.
However, I am sure someone will come up with a 'proper' web site for you soon though!

thank you spanner for the advice, but i have one question for you: what material did you use or suggest i use to make the bunker? I know some people use plaster or wood, but seeing that im a 16 year old broke teenager, i would like the cheapest way to do that. once again, thank you for the advice

Scratch-building addict
Cheapest way i've found for making buildings, walls, rocks, and general landscape.
Use the polystyrene inserts that protect DVD players/TVs/Electrical equipment in their boxes to form the basis of the shape by cutting, carving and melting and then cover in cheap filler (available from DIY shops for about a pound a box), this enables you to "carve" the final shape and engrave any detailing you require.
This is made with the method above, just to give you an idea.

Tyler, good advise/suggestion from Colin. I use the same method....As an add on to his post, if you want something of a more round shape, try a small plant pot, turned over and cut down to the right height.
Aslo, try and get hold of some polystyrene plant trays, the ones that have 4/6 young plants in them. These make great bunkers too.....I used this method in a recent diorama. Almost ready made!!
Don't worry about having little money, I don't buy stuff for my dioramas, but use everyday things from around the house, the trash can, the garden and sweepings from my drive!
Any more help help needed just ask away and we will all try and help out.
