loco runs slow on certain part of my layout

My layout was built professionaully for someone, i have purchasted it from the layouts secound owner and its built to be exhibited, so it splits into pieces on the front section of one of my end boards the loco slows down as if the electric current is dropping to that section, to my knowlegde the wirring is sound and i have cleaned the track so i cant understand why this is happening I think that its something to do with a set of points that are near to this point on the layout is there any way of testing this theory.

mmm think you may have answered your own question there in regards to the points...check the connectivity in the area of the points, if it is not good consider wiring up an extra power connector to the track after the points to keep power levels the same...or at least sort out the dodgy connection in the points area....maybe replace the points...??

Regards........Mark

shoule be easy to check out with a voltmeter , one terminal on each track, and just check various points until you find the voltage dropping away, then just keep chacking until you find the exact point that it does drop
