| Transferring patterns.
Whilst on the subject of transferring patterns there are a couple of other ways that I would like to pass on to modellers,the first one is called 'Pouncing' a tecqnique used used by signwriters and lettermen,basically it works like this an is particularly useful for transferring large portions of a drawing such as a sheet fuselage side,first of all with a small clock wheel mounted into a pen holder run around the outline on the plan,then take a dolly dye bag in one hand and slap it against a hard surface to break up the dye inside the bag,then place the drawing onto the wood and tape the edges to stop everything noving,pounce through the whole rear of the plan and small amounts of the blue dye will be deposited onto the wood effectively giving you the bold outline that you need.
Just in case anyone is not aware ordinary photocopies can be transferred onto balsa via placing an hot iron on the back of the copy and firmly applying heat to transfer the image to your balsa,this is best done and more effective with freshy done copies when the toner is still on the surface rather than sunk into the paper.
Dont forget to photo-copy your kit printwood before building,save these with your plans for future reference they could come in useful one day.
