Carbon Fibre (tows)

I have been reading Grayheads thread about the use of carbon fibre

If any of you have a model like a Razzel or a Xtreme or any other low winger that has a large wing section, the Razzel and Xtreme has only 1 to 1.25 inch of fuselage side after the wing section has been cutout. As you can expect this is now a very weak point, especially bad on a heavy landing.

To strengthen this I have user one length of carbon fibre tows cyano’d front and rear and then epoxy’d. Left to set and the extra strength gained without excessive weight gain.

To this date the Razzel has not had a problem, with heavy landings, even after a abrupt vertical landing both fuselage side were not damaged, (will not go into what was damaged).

Ebay auction ends today 26th. 6 mtrs for £1.99+pp. (20 lengths available) I`ve used this for everything from autogyro blade strengthening, main-spar stiffening on 7ft Eagle to edgeing indoor Depron foamie wings and struts. Try it , you`ll love it. Freeflight Supplies c/f is already epoxyed , less messy to use.
