Beautiful work Ramesh - and much neater than the innards of mine which is looking more like an overloaded plateful of spaghetti! Many thanks for the front plane pics in particular. I am encouraged that you too have found this area to be a bit of a trial. Maybe there's hope for me yet!
That is without a doubt the mother of all sub kits...ought to keep you out of mischief for a while longer
Id be dribbling just looking at it were I there... actualy im fairly salivating now so id better leave before my credit card does something my marriage will regret... The wiring job is first class, I must confess to being a bit (actualy a whole lot) messy with my wiring loops and mountings.
Keep us posted on sea trials and final commisioning dates..
Thanks guys, everything is now complete, piston tanks are in, the rusted grills have been redone, final paint is on and I just have to spray on the varnish coat and its ready for ballast trials. The only thing I am going to leave unfinished before the 'trials' are the undersides of the missile doors and the dummy missiles themselves. This will be the first time since starting the project that I will discover if my sub and that large lid is watertight. I have 3 weeks to finish her before her first public outing.
Ok here she is, all complete and painted (except for the misslie door). Piston tanks now installed and plumbed in. Soon she will be starting her ballast trials. Some more pictures.
Well done Ramesh - a real credit to your building skills. I wish you success with the ballasting trials and look forward to seeing the pics of her on the water.
I am intending to have the big LA out at the Edinburgh SubDay this weekend and assuming all goes well will post some pics early next week/ It'll make the Typhoon look small!
She floats, she sinks, she floats again! I have trimed her slightly tail heavy on the surface to keep the props in the water, and level when submerged. The picture of the reals ones I have seen seem to suggest this also.
Fantastic work, can you explain how you got all the different sounds working?
Thanks, The sounds are recordeed on a solid state chip. It records 4 second clips. I cant find the link from where I got it from but its about £7 or so I think.
