Scratch built diesel loco

Hello!

I’ve started a new model and would like to share my experience on this project. Although I have no previous rail modelling experience I started making this OO gauge Polish diesel loco SU 42. The construction is based on card model. Click here to see where I got the card model and photo etched parts from. Here’s a picture of 1:1 loco:

And some pictures of my model. I have copied the card model onto adhesive paper and began with sticking particular parts on a plastic sheet. Then I cut out required parts and form to shape like I would do with card model. Here is the “stern”:

Regards,
Marudek

Hi tigertc!

Thank you for your interest and I hope you won't be disappointed with this thread. Are you interested in rail modelling or tanks only?
Here are some more pictures:

Marudek

Hi!

Yesterday I found one of the PE shutters is missing. Both frets are fine if you want to make older model SP 42 (which needs 3 of them). SU 42 needs four and I have three only. I've complaint to GPM and they promised to send me the missing part. Apparently they weren’t aware of the mistake. Anyway here are the pictures of both frets:

Here is what I’ve got so far:

Regards,
Marudek
