Mankster, excellent and easy to follow so far .
i like your forward thinking on the modular idea, will the module also hold the accumulators internally like the engel idea or outside like the sheerline ?

Hi Chris, well you have choice depending on the sub. All 3 sections are independent and interchangable. For the Akula I am building, the batteries will go in the front section. I have measured the front tubes to be just long enough to accomodate my battery; just cut longer tubes if you need to fit a bigger battery, or want a longer WTC. For shorter boats, or if your getting stability problems, and need to increase the metacentric height, you can just drop the the front section completely and keep the batteries in the wet area low down under cylider. All the electonic gear like reciever, ESC and ballast switch can go in the centre ballast section. Obviously you'll need a second tube to accomadate the shorter WTC (but this fairly cheap compared to a new WTC).

Great work Ramesh - and awfully quick too compared to me! As regards Chris's query are you imtending to use Nimh's? Last Autumn I converted my Sheerline Trafalgarfrom lead acid to a 'wet' Nimh set up and the improvement was enormous. The Nimh supplied by Sheerline was water-proofed and works really well but does it really need water-proofing? The reason I ask is that I also have an unstarted Matt Thor 'Permit' and Dave Merriman module lying on the shelf and am thinking of running the nimh in the wet. Any advice would be much appreciated both by myself and a friend who is about to try a similar set up on a Skipjack.

Andrew

Hi Andrew, I have coated NiMh packs in Plast-dip and they have worked just fine underwater.

The WTC is nowhere near finished but I bolted it all together to see how it looks and if it all fits. All good so far.

That looks terrific Ramesh. Really tidy work and clean design.
Many thanks too for your advice on sealing the Nimhs.
