My first on this site :)
Hey, Im Mike and I have been making various models for around a year or so now. I am gonna present you with my latest project, a 1/32 Spitfire crash diorama, made from the, quite frankly, awful revell kit.
I started by doing some dry fitting, and the gaps between the fuselage and wings were huge, but after adding the cockpit it they got a bit smaller, but are still quite big SO i will be getting some filler at the weekend to adress this problem.
Then I moved on to painting the interior, which is when one of the clears jumped off its sprue and went for a walk, which gave me an idea, to make it captured, So i have made a german flag, and I am going to crudely paint a swastika over one of the roundels as if a german soldier has been there. I am going to have a wagon or car near it and a squad of german soldiers around the model, with the pilot being shut in the boot of the car, or tied to the side of the lorry.
But without much more funny squiggles, some pictures! Sorry for low quality, my decent cameres broken :'(

Cheers, Mike.

Hi Mike and welcome to Scale Models Forum, the best there is.
A brave choice indeed to build a kit as a crash diorama but I look forward to seeing it progress. The bent prop blades and scuffed up spinner look great. Good luck with the project and keep us posted :-)

Thanks, i decided in a crash as its something you dont see every day, i am aware of the risks, but it means that i can cover up missin parts with bullet holes and the like ;)

Welcome Mike. I have had the dubious priveledge of building that kit in its guise as a Seafire. I think you've probably come up with a good solution. I was never happy with mine and it was binned, having donated its wings for experimentation Muahaha!

It was originaly planned to be a seafire, but the air intake would mean that the plane would sit funnily as a crash to i decided to change it. Did you have a problem with the gaps between wings and fuselage??

Oh yes. It was a while ago but I remember that not much of it fit together very well. I probably attached the upper wings to the fuselage to minimise that gap and then added the lower plane before bodging the resulting cavern along the leading edge. It's a crap kit. At least you won't need to use the awful skinny wheels or the lump of plastic representing the arrestor frame!
Good luck with the diorama, as I said,it's probably the best solution.

the wheels were gonna be snapped off, but covered in mud so it wont really be seen :)
And it is the worst kit I built, shocking :(
