Why would the expression Propeller Heads refer to those of an interest in aircraft and not ships?

Well,why not break it down as-
'Ships propeller heads'
'Aircraft propeller heads'
The others are-
'Jet Jockeys'
'Chopper Freaks'
And probably many more such allied sayings out there ?

yes i was refering to those with a winged bent, as the site deals primarily in A.C
the term could be construed as being ambiguous i suppose if you want to split hairs!! so dont give me a hard time ok.. or ill voodoo all the sable in your brushes into pubes....watch it.....!
