| Bruno, next time use artists acrylic, you can buy it in tubes or pots and it goes a long way, mixes with water but waterproof when dry-polyvinal acetate micro beads make up the main constituent, the range of colours is beautiful.
Forget conventional paints they are just too heavy and messy and will seep somehow into the joints as you have found out.
Another good product to use with foam models is that fibreglass stranded adhesive tape, not sure of its name but it is the variety they cover those rubber floormat type models such as the Bullet slope soarer with.
You can use it to seal and stick edges,by the way if you need to fuel proof the hot areas around the nose then use Johnsons clear,it comes in a bottle which lasts you for years, the real purpose is to give a sheen to floors, its really tough stuff and very thin, you will find loads of uses for this liquid, get a bottle when you are in the supermarket next.
I have some plans for that Mud Duck that someone gave me,it is a monster !
Hope that you find the above notes useful next time at least.
