So it's definitely got to be 2 kits Ian? How much of a kit can it be... Just bits & pieces or a substantial part, like a turret for instance.

Cheers

From at least 2 kits Patrick so bits and pieces will do. The idea is to make a different vehicle from things that would have been left after the war.

This should be fun ( I have in mind an Airocobra ( stumpy wings ) no tail as such stabilisers on the outer stubs ( im not sure on scale yet as I'm going to scunch through bits and bobs ( eBay watch out ) I was even thinking of adapting a turret to the rear fuselage ( 1/48 would be chosen scale or 1/32 may even have sons tracked pat in it
I'll try putting some drawings up soon.
Major surgery and lots of botching ahead

So would my Sturmtiger do if it's changed from the usual 380mm mortar to a 128mm PAK 44? I think I've got a metal barrel somewhere & a mantlet that might fit.

What about mounting a 75mm gun on the Aerocobra Robert? It could replace the common 37mm firing through the spinner - serious (if impractical) firepower!

Yeah you drive 5 miles to the front fire it once and your back 5 miles with the recoil ( even thought of doing s Sherman with twin 88mm side mounted and cut away fat ass turret ( wasn't it the open turret version SP gun ( can't remember the name of it. This would have big ass stabilisers to stop it moving ( my ideas are springing forward ten fold here,
A twin version of the gloater meteor with a horsa glider body under the central wing as a gunship version
The mind boggles

I've a question that's been prompted by Ian's Mustvan! Are we restricted to what would have been possible with the technology of the early 1940s?

The reason I ask is that the Mustvan looks (and I stress that word) to be an amalgamation of the 2 kits. Clearly that would be beyond the knowledge of the period in question, so what's permissable? Jumo jet engines on a Tiger to make a hover tank?

TIA

If they could build ME 262s I'm sure they could put a truck and a plane together Patrick, The Jumbo jet engines were not around at the end of 1945 but you could use the 262s engine if you want. The idea is to build a different vehicle from the parts that would have been left after the BIG bomb went off. Mad Max style. It doesn't need to be real but I'm trying to make mine look as if it would work. I hope this as cleared things up for you. The hover tank sounds a good idea though.

Thanks Ian, although I don't think the combination as you describe would have been possible then, much less after an atomic exchange!
Lol I didn't mean Jumbo Jet engines! I said the Jumo ones as used on the Me 262.

Well I'm not sure I can go for something as radical as you, I'll keep mine more in keeping with what seems possible ;)

No worries mate, it did make me laugh thinking of a couple of chuffing great turbofans attached to a Tiger!

Thanks Scott it runs for a year so you have time if you get the gear you need. I hope you can join in at some point, but keep watching.
