Thought I'd better get a little more done to this one. So I've got the turret built and painted. With some of the decals going onto the gun mantelet, that then fits into the turret, you need to paint both so I've just done that.

I used to really love building the Tamiya 1/48 armour kits, they are very nice.

Great work on this one Ian, great subject:thumb2:

Thanks Graham. I now know why you like them, they are great little kits to build with plenty of detail. This is my second Tamiya 1/48, and I've got another on order from John in the shop.

Sorry for going off topic but can I recommend you get the US fuelling truck? It’s a beautiful kit and the figures are superb that come with it. As is the little Soviet Gaz Truck.

I'll take a look Graham. Thanks for the recommendation.

Tamiya always seem to be very reliable. Strangely the 1 48 kits dont seem to have taken off as much as 1 72 kits have done. What do you think?

Hi Steve, I've not done many Tamiya 1/48 kits, in fact this is only my second kit. But like you say they are good kits with very nice detail. As for not taking off I find it strange. With most aircraft kits being 1/72, 1/48, 1/32. id have thought that 1/48 trucks tanks and the like would lend themselves perfectly for the aircraft for diorama's.

Hi Ian
All looking neat and sorted. How did you get on with the track - looks nice. I am another who doesn't quite understand why 1/48 is not more popular.

Hi Jim the tracks fitted very well with no problems. I've got them both fitted now and added a little rust wash.

The Tamiya 48th kits are very nice - I have most of them in the stash. Just need time to actually build them

Pity the figure sets are not as good

Are those tracks flexi or link and length Ian?

Hi Ian, It's looking super mate, your interior was worth the effort, the star decal on the roof sat down incredibly well considering the contours. Nice job.
