Excellent,
I believe we have reached enough participants to launch a flair, toot a whistle, roll up a trouser leg and declair the launch of the GB:smiling4:

Do we need approval now

I got a few kits which would fit the bill, but I'm back into gainful employment week after next (I gotta be a sucker for punishment going back to twelve-hour days after retiring last year!).

If my contract finishes before the start I'll have a go. Just a teeny question though. Could we use fictional creatures? I've got a Draaken A/C and a Centaur tank which I could include in my list of choices.

PS Herding cats must be easier than looking after us lot - so I won't even ask about including my Tamiya 1/35 Desert Rat figures!:tongue-out:

Count me in. I'm getting on with age too so I need a reminder as well near the date. I have a few in the stash to ponder either air or ground builds...they are definitely kits that I have not seen built here. Will decide later.

Cheers,
Richard

Well this took off very quickly. Well done to the proposer(s).
I have been sniffing around a bit and it is actually weird how many different things have been given animal names. Some more obscure than others. Some not so much.
This is one of those suggestions that has something for everyone. So far without really trying I have found; submarines, Boats, helicopters, aeroplanes, Trains, cars, lorries, tanks (duh) armoured cars, Which just about covers everything!
Not sure about the nick name bit though, Unless it was an official call name as used in the service. Like the Russian aircraft.
As there is such a long time before the kick-off for this one I will just let the thread run here for a while yet so others can still find it. But yes so far you have made the list.
I can make the forum for it but it will not be open until nearer the start date.
Those that have memory issues. You could always add it to your calendar in window. I have. lol

I know what a DUWK is, never heard of an animal of that name. Only official military call names please.

Hi Ian,
Excuse my ignorance but where in Si. Benson's opening paragraph does it state this, or is it just your interpretation ? Having fallen foul over a comment I made on another GB I don't want a repeat experience but on the previous occassion I was told that the criteria was set by those setting it, not the moderators Can you please clarify?
regards Jim

Jim. I have not interpreted any thing. I have read the suggestion and the example he made makes it pretty clear.
Quote. ....like a Tiger tank or a Lynx helicopter ... End quote .

So things that have the same name as an animal.

I think I may be able to join this one with something non-German. Like other, a reminder closer to the time will be needed.
