Hi all, calling this done, don't want to cover it in too much snow and loose some detail. Sparse I know, but only wanted to show the car and figures this time.

Will be mounted on to another picture frame later.

Thanks for following this and staying with it, and for the kind comments.

A wonderful little dio mate. Again some more photos would be nice. A couple in B&W would be great. The guy with the medals would be good to see as well. Cant wait to see the next one in the series. Well done sir :thumb2:

That's turned out great John.

I have to admit to raising an eyebrow when I saw the first pictures of the whitewash, but with your subsequent work the effect now looks spot on.

Thanks Andy, having read about the methods and mixes use by the Russians and they methods they used to apply I decided to the "slap it on " one . Might have been better if I'd have givenn Viktor a smaller bush instead of that bass broom .:smiling3:

Been looking again tonight at the snow effect, I'd used a 3 M photo mount spray adhesive, now I think it might be a little too thick and therefore heavy for the snow. PI & S recommend their adhesive for use in the AB, saying it could be thinned with water if need be. So very light . Other adhesives could be used, from photo mount to hair spray. I've used the hairspray before on the sp gun in the house build, I found that rather heavy as well. Still it's all experience trying these methods out.

Hi John
Well done Sir. I like that. As I said earlier in the build the figures really work well.

Nice little vignette John...and the results of a good effort. The figure poses have made it lively. I must say though them Ruskies can sure take the cold weather. Have to back read your post on how you transfered 3M spraymount adhesive to the AB and what was used as a solvent.

And yes more pictures.

Cheers,
Richard

Richard , thanks, as to the 3 M photo spray adhesive, I'll rephrase that, PI&S in their instruction leafet mentioned their own adhesive and not the 3 m one. That certainly wouldn't thin with water like theirs, which I have tried this afternoon and is perfect. Still wondering if a clear mat varnish would do the same job. Sorry about that. :upside:

As for the brave none wearing of winter kit, they missed the mid season sales at Stalin's Emporium. :upside:

John .

More pictures then .IMG_20190604_142832259.jpgIMG_20190604_142810799.jpgIMG_20190604_142722619.jpg

Hope you like.

John.

Many thanks for the extra photos mate. That really is some wonderful work. It must look very cold on your display shelf in your bench room :smiling:

Your welcome, it's not in the cave either, Management have allowed it into the house, a first . It's sitting on a chest of drawers next to Peters fine Russian figure .
Brrr - well done John
Thanks Simon. Still have to get better at this snow, as you know it's a lot harder to do than you'd think .

Great little build 453.

I thought it was cold this last few weeks in the Outer Hebrides, but it was like the tropics compared with your excellent rendition of real cold!
