Nice paint job mate. Nuffin wrong with letting the paint cure for a few days. I always have a build running along side a paint job to maximize what little time we get at the bench. Top work.

Cheers guys :thumb2:

Bench is pretty congested at the minute and not getting much time. Here was how things stood last weekend.

Since then there has been some progress.
Cammo added to Tiger II, using the Newer Tamiya lacquer range. Sprays just as nicely as regular Tamiya but definitely smoother and less matt.
Tiger I has had a base coat and the rubber rims painted on the wheels.
Began the weathering process on Tig II using a dark enamel wash and added some pigments to the tracks.

The barrel has had the brown and yellow sprayed on and needs a bit more masking and some green adding, before I can weathering it in.

Plenty more to do still. I’ll let everything dry and I’m hoping to get the 109 sprayed up tomorrow:nerd:

Thanks to all the regulars for looking in :thumb2:

Lookin the DB's mate. Very impressed with the look. First time I have seen blue numbered decals so what's the story behind that?

Hi Si
That paint job is really nice. Haven't tried the new lacquer paint from Tamiya but I do feel that lacquer paints are generally rather nice. Nice to look at pictures that aren't "all wheels" :tongue-out3:

Turning out nicely Si. Ya also like to know about the blue numbering...kinda retro looking.

Cheers,

snip, snip, snip.......

So like my Comrade, Mr Jones, I like to get the tracks underway as soon as possible. Spent and hour snipping the tracks off the sprues today.

There will be some sanding/scraping and filling required here and there!

Some of the ejector marks are pretty :poop::poop: but I suppose its an old mould and has probably seen better days!

Off to snip some more plastic :smiling4:
I checked 5 or 6 of the Dragon KT kits I have - they do indeed have the same pin marks, but almost not pronounced. Not the standard for Dragon, in my impression, to even have pin marks, so this is a surprise. Another special feature of the Dragon KT kits, which I do not see on this Zvezda kit, is the track hangers on the turret are not pronounced on one side! Only one of the kits I looked at in the Dragon stash had hangers with pronounced featues on both sides. Unfortaunately, I forget which one :p

Enjoy the remainder of the build!

Morning chaps,

Not been at the bench much lately, we’ve all had a sickness bug that’s going around :face-with-thermometer:....I don’t normally get sick but this was a nasty one!

Been gradually building up the dirt on hull sides using pigment and enamels. And used some oil paint to simulate a dusty look on the turret

41B3B32F-629E-4AA2-B2FF-7F85EDB57BB0.jpegEAA3C664-0104-4C97-8181-97FEA5BCB98A.jpegA39A2382-EFB9-4EB7-82B5-35BA25E7D6BF.jpeg

Put together some spare tracks for the turret and drilled through to add track pins.

Getting close to finishing but still in two minds on the base as I think a building is beyond my skill level so may just have it sat in a field?

thanks for looking

Hi Si

Looking really rather good there. Nicely muddy but without being over the top. Very well done.

So, given the quality of that build a building is well within your skills. Great work.
