Chris, do you have a naval background?
Pete

HI Pete well my uncle searved in the R/N on a small carrier in the war fixin earo engines on swordfish I think but he would not talk about it much as I heard he had some bad times on that ship what with seasickness an the war an my dad was in the RAF at Dunkirk again they dint want to talk so no I wish I did though but the reason I love building R/C ships is that the models really challenge me on the modelin front as there is so much you can make work on them an over the last 30 odd yrs of building them ive learned a lot how to build from scratch an in some cases how not to build but that's the learning process isn't it I used to try an fly R/C planes but kept comin home with kilndin as I crashed a lot so I thought well with ships everything happens slower so got time to recover unless I run into an over other models but not my fault on that but I think these warships look very majestic an powerfull when they sail on the pond an the public love them to as they always want to see inside an I put them in model shows to show the model off an a lot of people ask me where they can buy one but they cant as the models have to be built by people like me anyway thanks for lookin in an your question :thumb2:

Looking great Chris, still fascinates me how you even start something like this. My interest has just increased 10 fold, as when I showed this to my Dad, he informed me that his Uncle had only served on two ships while he was in the Navy, HMS Hermes (Aircraft Carrier), and the other was the Tiger!!

Good question, I would have thought 1950-60s so probably pre recommission.

Jack by pre recommission do you mean then that its when she was a normal battle cruiser ? or the helo convert ?

When she was a Battle Cruiser..so before she was taken out of service for the refit (1968-1972), and then recommissioned as your helo convert.

Hi Chris
Great progress on Tiger. I bet it feels good to have the bulk of the wiring done and get back to modelling the structure. It looks a formidable task but I do believe you’re the man for the job!
It’s always a treat to catch up with this build - awesome stuff.
Cheers

HI Paul well its some of the wirein done but still a lot more to do im happy to say as I love doin all this wirein an solderin but im at the moment tryin to build this upper bridge section the conn an its been a right s*d as ive looked at the plans from front view an side view an top view an all the bloomin angles keep blendnin in with one another then I had a idea look at it upside down lol an it all seems to have clicked into place in me head so im now building it an it seems right ITS THE OLD SAYIN IF A PROPLEM LOOKS WRONG TURN IT ON ITS HEAD an its seems to be workin lol
