Hi all,
I’ve made a start on another bust and this time it’s a 1/10 of Che Guevara by Life miniatures. It’s a fairly simple figure with only two parts and it comes with a painting guide which I have used for reference rather than anything else as I just can’t grasp the technique they promote.
Anyway this is where I am at the moment ... I’m not sure if the eyes are correct at the moment... maybe the irises are too small so I may be doing them again....The hair and beret are just blocked in for now but hopefully more progress soon!

Very nice work indeed Jason. Funnily enough I nearly bought this one earlier today, but got distracted.

Thanks Fernando... I keep tinkering with it.. the beard is too full!
Looking good Jason. Reminds me of Wolfie Smith ;)
Thanks Tim... I know what you mean...just got to paint a “Freedom for Tooting!” Badge!

Thanks Peter... I doubt this would keep you occupied for long at your pace as there’s very little to it beyond the skin tones
Looks good so far.
Peter
Thanks Peter... so far so good?

Hasta luego!

Thanks all. It’s very much appreciated... This is my third bust in about 6 weeks...normally it takes me about 3-4 months to finish one...I suppose it’s an unexpected consequence of being at home much more?...Problem is my bust stash has become seriously depleted so I will have to scour the boxes for something to do next.... oh well if that’s the only thing I have to worry about I suppose I’m not doing too badly!
Thanks
Jason

Love the expression in his eyes :thumb2:
Thanks Neil,
I've tinkered with the eyes all day and have made some minor changes since posting these pics... there was not enough definition around them and a little too much of the white part on the right eye...
Thanks again.

The eyes look very nice indeed Jason. The sculptor hasn't helped by making them different shapes, which, as you know, is pretty common with busts and figures. It's the one thing that gives me the most headaches. Well done for resolving the issue.

I think that is a very nice paintwork of Che, Jason. Skin tone is great. Very well done indeed.

Cheers,
Richard

Outstanding. The art of painting busts really is artwork at its best. A joy to see

Thanks again chaps!
I guess the lesson here is never to say nearly finished and it’s always the little things that take up most of the time...due to the prominence of the watch on the figure I’ve just spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get it right...this is going to have to do...
