Spending more than twice the usual time at the bench means that my stash has never been so low.

In a week I expect to have finished the FA 18 and will have started the Airfix 1/24 Hellcat and I will have only 4 1/32 aircraft stacked up. I expect to reopen my office in September, maybe late August, so I will be well into the Hellcat before my bench time more than halves, back to the norm.

What then should I be buying to build up the stash?

1/32 naturally....

Well I am minded to get the ZM Ki45 but I won’t start the build until MRP release their IJN/IJA colours and I already have one IJA kit awaiting that in the stash. I will wait a bit on that.

I do fancy the Trumpeter P47 Razorback and can find some good nose art for it. There are not many around though as retailerS seem to have sold out of a lot of 1/32 kits.

A Hasegawa F190D perhaps... I fancy one of those but again there seems to be a supply issue. I also think my stash will be too ‘Axis heavy’...

Then what?
Well there are the 4 engined heavies... but common sense is making me think of space, I am getting short of it..... I may get them in 1/48 though, if HKM continues releasing them in that scale.

I am tempted by the HKM B25 but the B25 is not an aircraft that appeals to me for some reason, but if they release a B26.....

What else?
The ZM or HKM FW190 when either comes but, ooops, yet another Axis....
Maybe ICM will release a 1/32 Lysander, that would be an obvious one for them and I would snatch one up.
Anything new from Tamiya in 1/32 regardless of what it is.
Speaking of Tamiya, the Korean War F51 perhaps but I have built three Tammy P51s, or the’D’ Corsair but that boring sea blue and I have built two of these superb kits...
Maybe ZM or HKM will release something interesting and different..... who knows...

I might be tempted back to modern jets by a decent Bucaneer or if HKM release the promised Spey Phantom. Perhaps the ItalerI GR4 Tornado will tempt me, who knows.

so, I await new releases eagerly as I am running short of subjects that I really want to build....

I think you must be the only person on the planet with this problem ,Barry!
Most of us suffer from S.A.B.L.E
Stash Amount Beyond Life Expectancy !

Yes but the 1/32 aircraft I buy average out at about £100 a time so I only buy what I want to build.

I might just squeeze it in ... one model a fortnight = circa 25 per annum (with a fortnight's annual leave) = 6 years to clear the 150 in the stash.

I was told some three years ago by one model retailer in Australia, that there was a guy in Western Australia that had a stash of 4000 kits. This was not a rumour as the retailer supplied many of those kits.

Well Kitty Hawk have the Super Sabre, and old kit of theirs and it has an awful reputation. I think Italeri might have a Starfighter and Trumpeter a Voodoo. I really prefer WW2 but I have looked at the Voodoo and have not ruled it out.

The only 1/32 voodoo you’ll get is a vac form Barry , Trumpeter do a 1/32 super sabre though and their 1/32 f-105 thunderchief is a big beast to behold . If you’re thinking maybe russian then Trumpeter again do a MiG 23 in this scale that’s an impressive looking model too

I think I saw a 1/32 Gloster Gladiator from ICM the other day. Something new to you; a bi-plane

Thoughts on large Cold War aircraft? Obviously not 1/32, but a Vulcan or a Victor as something slightly different?

I built the excellent Trumpy 1/32 Swordfish and I have the ICM Mk 1 Gladiator in the stash...
