Finally, I think I’ve finished:

0.jpg

The, as far as I know, first and therefore only, in-depth look at all the derelict military vehicles left in and around the village of Westkapelle in the Netherlands following the Second World War.

Download it here, free of charge!

Spread the word :smiling3:

A very huge thanks from myself also Jakko!!! A quick look through and it is very well done and an in-depth book. Must have taken quite a while to make too. This evening, I will give it a good, complete read. Tip of the hat to you!!!

Thank you, Jakko! Just downloaded it and had a swift scroll-through (if this is the verb I'm looking for... :confounded: ) and I think it's an outstanding example of historical research. I'll spread the word.

Thank you too. Yes, that took quite a while to put together — like it says in the foreword, over two years altogether, but not like I was working on it all that time. However, for the past few two or three months I’ve not really done much else (which is why I’ve not been posting pics of models under construction here lately).

The more the merrier :smiling3:

Just doing my best, and I’m sure I’ll catch things later on that aren’t correct. But then, if you wait until you have everything, you’ll never actually do anything.

And also thanks for the kind words to all of you I didn’t specifically reply to :smiling3:

Very kind indeed. A most generous offer.

I've got a copy downloaded and will have a look at my leisure.

Thanks again.

Thanks :smiling3:

Quick update: with a bit of luck, a version 1.1 will be available soon — not long after I get a printed copy back and confirm that earlier issues with professional printing are now solved.

Hi Jakko

Are you going to actually publish this as a printed book?

Not as such, but I am going to put up PDF files intended for printing, so that anyone who wants a hardcopy book can upload it to an online print service and get them to run off a copy (or multiple). I had it printed like that:

B221F7D7-5292-411C-8711-19BB09F48EF9.jpeg

However, this had a number of minor problems that I needed to solve first. I did that and ordered a new one to see if it’s actually fixed it, but I haven’t received it in the mail yet. Hopefully it’s OK now, in which case I’ll put up the files for download, together with a corrected and very slightly expanded version of the other PDF files. This could take a little longer still, though, because someone contacted me just today and supplied more information I didn’t have yet …

Update!

I’ve now (finally) finished version 1.1 — it took longer than expected, but I’ve corrected mistakes, added new information that only surfaced after I released the previous version, included some new photographs, and more. Also, I created a version intended for printing as well as one for viewing on a computer or tablet screen, so you can have a proper book printed up if you want.

Download a (new?) copy from tankwrecks.westerbeke.name, still for free!
