It was suggested as a safe place to superglue PE together so I would have thought plenty large enough. Just how big are the PE parts you are using !!! lol

WELL Rick i have every doubt in my abilities. as i went an done a classic b*lls up to day as i was wirein up the helo controll bubble with its leds an it also works the main mast lights an i thought well that went well an i sat back to rest my back injury as it was paining a bit as its too much stooping that starts it off so givin my self a little pat on the back an i treated myself to a chocolate an havin a rest so i thought i'll just try it all to see what it all looks like lit up well i nr fell out of me chair nothing worked an i was  what goin on it should all light up well out come the circut tester an yes after nr an hour of testin where the wires all go through plugs id found that i had wired it all up back to front AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH but soon as i found out what id done it was just a simple matter of reveseing all the wires now it GOES OK thank goodness

HOPE i dont get the dogs do dars revoked lol

These things are sent to try us Chris......at least you sorted it out.
WOW Tim well it certainly tryed me out i could not beleive it but i know how this happened now thinking it through as the main feed plugs are on the underside of the hanger roof but the feed out plugs to the controll bubble an the main mast are on the top side so when i turned it upside down hence my thinking went upside down as well lol
an thanks for your kind comment Tim

Too late Chris........the Revocation committee have met and the only way to retain the Award is to send copious amounts of CASH preferably USD (large denominations only), to the address, soon to be provided by the committee, in a large plain brown envelope. :tongue-out3:

Hi Chris, wow that is some radar you put together, did you have use solder to hold the parts n place, the first Type 42 destroyer had the same main radar, how long did it take you , the main mast is looking awesome , my ships mast will be a challenge indeed ,..
Keep the good work flowing and lots of pics, will be turning around , I have two smaller radars to scratch build , take care Tony

HI Tony well IT TOOK ME A WEEK TO BUILD but first off i had a good think of how building this P/E radar would be built an yes i first thought id solder it but with me getting the shakes at time that was a no go as the iron would be all over the show an proberly burn myself into the bargain an plus as it was a big P/E unit it would need strenghtening with 1mm brass box section an that means wheight so no go as when building a ship thats goin to sail top wheight must be whatched carefully so i thought right brass is out so i SUPER GLUED in 1mm sqaure plastic evergreen strips to the inside panels so there is somethig to glue too an its light not heavy like brass this radar is bigger that big main search radar on my type 42 an that was in 1/64 th scale lords knows how big this radar would have been in 1/64 scale as its over 4 inches in 1/72 SCALE so its big an hope you can build your mast an radars ok

HI ALL well that big P/E RADAR went fairly well thank goodness an no major probs building it as thinking ahead paid off an now ive built but not fininshed the smaller hieght finding radar in brass that sits on the back of the main mast as to finish it must have a black fine mesh over it but i at the moment need some very short sharp scirrors to cut the mesh away to give a fine finish an the only mesh i can find is one of jens black stockings ive nicked for the job an the radar in the pic is still needing to be filed down but thats done nowIMG_6117.JPG

AN IVE never seen such an ugly looking radar as this an its the 278 radar an its on here on its mounting on the back of the main mast an it revoles like the big main long range search 965 radar butIMG_6121.JPG this one when it picks up a target then it stops an then goes into the target height find mood to direct fire i think ive got that right as not sure on that
