The Battery box has arrived....now you see it........now you don't. I surface mounted the switch on the backside to hide it from view. Learning a lot about micro LED's, Resistors and 38 gage wire that will fit inside of the .018" stainless tubing that will form into the "Goose neck" light fixtures I have in mind.

Next unit, ten archers, built, based, and ready to prime...

As I said, I don’t post everything as a build thread because it would get a bit samey ..... after these I’m going to do some historicals, a Perry miniatures Sudan colonial era heliograph section for a change of pace.

Thanks Andrew. Not quite is the answer, I am about twenty short on the paints, plus a few of the technicals. I don't like the model colour metallic paint, so only have silver in that set. Most of my metallic paint is Darkstar, though I have recently invested in a couple of newer game colour metals to try out. (They are superbly smooth in use). I’m sad enough to keep them in the order shown on the colour charts though :tongue-out3:
I actually have far too much paint, with an extensive range of Tamiya for spraying, loads of old Humbrols that are still useable, a good range of oils, and quite a few heavy body acrylics.......there are some other odds and sods around as well, such as Xtracrylic and Modelmaster....most modellers build up a stash....I have enough model paint to decorate a bedroom......

PLEASE take a picture of your painting set up so I can demonstrate to my wife I have nowhere near enough paints.... ;) :smiling3:

If we were in the same country you could have the Testors enamels I have Rick....there aren’t many, but they are all Wehrmacht.

Think we all accumulate paint over the years, some more than others :flushed:
Although I don’t have any complete sets, I do have a variety of mediums. I still have all my original pots of Games workshop paint from the early 90’s too !!

Great work Tim ,although not at the moment my thing i like the perry's miniature site and have looked at the set you mention several times there brill off the cuff enough to stand out from the rest , can't think of his name but also like the bloke at the top of the stairs making his last stand at mafeking? Keep it coming Tim I find it really interesting and its becoming inspirational (nearly there but not quite). Dave

Thanks Dave. Really appreciate the kind comments. The guy you are thinking of is General Gordon, otherwise known as “Chinese” Gordon....you can read about him here....
Perry plastics are excellent. The metals are also excellent sculpts, but the casting is a little lower in quality so they can take a bit of clean up.

OK then, for Andrew so he can use leverage and stop his wife complaining......here is the core of my paint collection......

B1060C72-2ABD-4684-98AF-14E70912ADE2.jpeg
Main block of Vallejo model colour....set out as on the colour chart for easy reference.....
68C8CFC9-F127-4E81-8B06-B74BC0ECEBCB.jpeg
The rest of the model colour plus the majority of the technic paints such as metallics, washes, and transparent colours.....I need another of these stands as I’ve outgrown this one.....
26291977-A043-4D2B-8789-1CBE66A9CDF8.jpeg
More technicals and specials....the model airs are because I want to try them properly now I’ve got Vallejo flow improver....the game colours are inks.

0F33C88F-A05B-4BC3-B8D1-59800017A056.jpeg
First really useful box full of enamels and some xtracrylics.....

FB7F1D3E-E5B6-456B-BFDA-62CF33ECF0A2.jpeg
Second really useful box of enamels that I dropped when setting them up for the photos...there are some old humbrols acrylics in there as well....I don’t use these any more, but they are all useable and most are like really old friends so I don’t want to ditch them....

4014EF73-0538-4D83-A3E2-10E2B69472DF.jpeg
A couple of RUBs of Tamiya paint, with a few Mr colour thrown in....these are used exclusively for airbrush work....the R denotes those already diluted for use.

BA59871B-AE32-459C-8986-B9054A4EDE6F.jpeg
A few odds and bits, mostly inks, plus the heavy body acrylics I mainly use for scenery and buildings....

2152D036-3FE0-475B-A234-6EE0C7E0564A.jpeg
Oils, quite a few there, most at least twenty years old now. Occasionally use these for figures as they give more vibrant colours than model paints. Mostly used for weathering though.....

12124A14-3E67-4C99-9A6C-A8F6ED2EC57D.jpeg
The brush collection (well you didn’t think it was just paint did you?). I have another brush holder on the way, but it’s coming by slow boat from China! I will then set up one for rough brushes (dry brushing, stippling, mixing etc) and one for best work brushes....

Lastly this is how it all fits above the desk......
6B50D6C4-9890-428C-BB48-77D4EB65A3BB.jpeg
The top shelf is lesser used stuff, like primers, sprays, solvents, Alclads etc....all the RUBs etc are on the second shelf....

I have a few others, such as emulsion tester pots in a drawer that only get used for wargames scenery so I’ve not pictured them....

This is around forty years worth of collecting paints Etc. I could probably get by with a quarter of these but they don’t eat anything and I’ve got the room so why throw them....besides, there are some unique jobs that each type of paint excels at. I might only use them once or twice a year, but if I don’t have them, I can’t use them at all....

Hope this helps your case Andrew...
