I hand over the years collected various kits and yes dome k have attempted and never completed but thinking can d get an overlaiden with kits
There are so many new kits coming out and older kits being refreshed can we just have too many
My wife when she accompanying me to model shops tells the owner I could go into competition with them
I doubt it
I'm in AFv mode at the moment and there's such variety out there I want them all
Build them all is another question
But I do enjoy modelling and it does give me relaxation

At one point I had close to 200 kits but now I'm down to under 50 , I sold a load that were impulse buys and built over 80 in the last 18 months , i only buy what I really want now which has upset my LHS owner lol

But I suppose it helps that you really want everything!

just had a count up of the stash

not including boxes of figures theres 135 of all genres

i feel quite good about that cos ive not bought much for the last 2 years certainly not like i used to, and i sold a bundle about 6 months ago to, to try and reduce the stash, get rid of stuff i know i will never build, i can remember 5 years ago i had over 250 stashed in the loft simply cos i couldnt turn down a bargain lol

NO!
(you can't have too many kits!)

Jokes aside, people have collected everything since the stone age I guess and it's in our nature. You find many animals do the same, but with sticks, nuts, grass, pebbles and even socks! (my dogs do...)
Scale models needs to be built as well as just procuring them, thus why some people have "a few" in their stash waiting to be built.
Regardless if they're built or not, they're still part of the collection and if you ask me the question is a short and clear No!
Can a stamp collector have too many stamps? Don't think so.

I only got back into modelling again on the 1:st of June this year and since then I've bought 13 tanks and one figure kit, whereas 2 done, 7 are on the bench (3 almost done, the rest in various stages), 4 in the stash and another 2 kits are on order.
Some people might call that a bit extreme but I don't. They all serve a purpose and a scale model is much cheaper - and more fun, than a psychologist or expensive therapy ;)

If some of you have 50+ kits in the stash my only comment would be well done Sir/Miss/Ms/Mrs! Which ones are you getting next?

That's not a stash Jens! That's amateur hour compared to some of us here! Mine's well over 400 and I suspect there are a few here with more.

I wasn't talking about how many I've got, I was referring to the fact that I'd bought 14 kits in 2 months - hence why you can reach rather high numbers after a few years ;)

I set myself a limit of 10 in the stash plus one on the bench. As I build large scale 1/32 aircraft they are somewhat more expensive than average and take longer to build than smaller scale kits so it not just a case of forking out a few quid. I once added up the cost of my, mere, 10 kits which, at the time included 7 of the Tamiya 1/32s incuding the Mossie and the HK Models Mossie and the figure came to over £1,100.... Because I intend to build every one I buy, I exercise self-control over purchases, the number of not the cost. It does need for me to keep building to make room for that new Tamiya release!! My missus has just about come to accept my small stash but woe betide me if I go over 10....

Oh dear....
after writing that above I made the mistake of looking at reviews and found one for the ZM 1/32 FW Ta 152H-0. I had a look around and could only find a few on E-Bay. Well I just had to....
I will need to be sneaky getting into the garage and find a 'discreet' place for it until I start the nextr build...

The most ive had waiting to be built is 4. However im still fairly new to modelling and i am slightly limited for space. If i had the money and the space im sure i would be like many of you guys. I have to try really hard to hold myself back when i go on amazon or go to a model shop. There is something so satisfying about buying a new kit and it reminds me of the excitement i had when i was little walking into a toy shop. I think we are all big kids at heart
