I've heard some talk of Hobbyboss releasing a couple of 1:32 liberators. Are they available yet, as they seem to be in the US

Hannants shows it as Future Release, none in stock, so perhaps not yet?

Due soon...

It has received a lot of critisism for a lack of detail but I actually think Hobbyboss have been sensible by taking the Hasegawa approach to the kit rather than the Tamiya approach.

There are two barriers to the sale of these 1/32 4 engined heavies, size and price. HKM and Wingnut have taken the full comprehensive detailed approach so the kits are north of £300.

Hobbyboss in going the more basic route have produced a price south of £200 and in so doing reduced the price barrier to sales and logically increase the potential sales volume.

No doubt the the aftermarket will go to town producing sets to add the missing detail so you can have a choice, get the kit and enjoy building it out of the box or spend more dosh to 'tart it up' with added detail. You could then spend up to whatever budget you have to improve those aspects important to you.

To my mind the only real problem is how they have molded the turrets with that seam through what should be clear glass. That is one thing the a.m. will need to fix....

This size of bomber weem to be getting popular, I'm surprised that nobody does any crew figures for them, especially a B-17 which would look great with a crew.

I'm surprised nobody does any of these in 1/87 scale!!! I'd practically kill to get any one of the above mentioned kits.
Cheers Rick H.

I agree. Been searching for a 1/87 P-38. I know someone made it some years ago, but can't find one now. PaulE

There has just been a discussion regarding this very question over on LSP. The dimensions that would be involved and the amount of plastic was mind boggling.
