Cheers Steve, so far so good.

It's on the back burner again at the mo as impairing the F-15. :smiling3:

Hi Bob, first time I've seen a build of one of these, some great detail in there already.

I am impressed that Bandai can get three different coloured plastics on one sprue.
The sprues for some gundam models are even more impressive — some of those have different colours of plastic not just for different areas of the sprue but in individual parts. Here, for example:

I’ve never built any, but I remember looking in the box of a few a long time ago, and as I recall, some had three colours of plastic in a single part.

Hey guys, long time no post. :tears-of-joy:

This has been on the shelf (literally) since June.

If you recall I'd put LED's in the cockpit, the plan was to run wires through the body and legs and out through the base. Sounds easy, but wasn't.

I'd done one side last year then gave up in disgust. It basically involved dismantling almost the entire model and removing a fair bit of the internal structure. Annoyingly I could only fit one wire through the legs, which meant running one through each of the legs. :anguished:

So it got shelved until now. I've just finished a big build, and can't start my next kit until the GB starts in February, so now is a good time to get this finished.

The wires are now in place, I'm going to have to fill some gaps and respray in places, but at least I can get moving again. :smiling:

TBH, I’d probably have looked for a way to put a battery inside the turret/head/whatever you call it, with some piece removable to allow replacement, and so avoid the need for wires through the legs.

Hindsight is a fantastic thing. :tears-of-joy:

In retrospect I would have put the batt and switch in the waist section, however by the time I realised this I'd already done one leg so just pushed on with it. It does mean I will be able to easily change the battery if necessary as it will be in a recess of the base.

I'm glad you have brought this one down from the shelf. I hope you have a chance to finish it before the next GB

This one turned up on the edge of the A38 by Newton Abbot just before Christmas. I still enjoy looking at it each time I drive past it:smiling3:

Hey guys, made progress this weekend. Decals applied, glossed and washed. Need to matt varnish and maybe add a few more streaks but otherwise almost done.

Which means I can get on with the figures. Did I mention there would be figures?
