Hi John - why not go completely different and try a bust!!! Seriously, I like the look of the Tamiya SU 76m, I know nothing about it, but it looks interesting. Or, if you want to go for more of a vignette, what about the Miniart 'pushing soldiers set' pushing the Gaz cargo truck?

Hi John - easy build or not? If you want an easy build I say go with the Tamiya IIIL - I have one part built and it is a nice kit

The Zvezda BT5 and SU100 are their older kits and a bit ropey - need work to get them together as fit is not the greatest

Not got the JS2 or KV1 but if the same vintage then probably about as good

The Tamiya and Academy Stug IV's are the same kit and are actually rather inaccurate being based on the old motorised Tamiya IV chassis - hull too wide, superstructure height wrong, wheels too narrow, wheel spacing off etc. Of course if your not fussed then they will build easily

I wouldn't mind seeing the ICM T34 though

If you want a street scene then maybe a Russian tank going through the street ruins with a PAK 44 burnt out on the pavement.Along with a column of around 50 Russian soldiers and 20 civilians on the street as well.

Morning John,

If the Zvezda BT and SU kits are a bit ropey as Mr T says, I’d get them built as wrecks  How about a wreck abandoned among a couple of rural buildings with thatched roofs?

Morning Dude 1, Peter, Simon, Steve the Rivet , :smiling2:,Si, Neil,Dave and Ralph
Thank you for the suggestions.
There's certainly some good ones there. If the kits are not quite up to scratch technically that really doesn't bother me from that point of view, more can I build it with out too much struggle.

That brings me on to Si's suggestion , wrecks :smiling2::smiling2:. Never one to want to give up completely I have found more enjoyment in doing wrecks is immense, the paint techniques, chipping, rust , burnt out all add so much from the normal 4 BO.

Peter, your suggestion of attempting a bust , completely out of my comfort zone , but one day when my figure painting has improved ! I did the SU 76 some time ago ., But do have another as you saw .
.
Back later. Need to make some phone calls .

No, not the flame thrower, we all know where that could lead.
It could be the truck with those pushy pushing soldiers (was beginning to think you had been shopping in the model department of Ann Summers) loading it.
But I would say it is time to get rid of one of those Stug IV's....
Ditto with the bust (Ref A Summers again)
No, do the Stug....
And if you are calling me, I am in the bath, or is that baath
Mike.

Need a change from the armoured cars
As a transition away from those, you could build the BT-5 with its tracks stowed — armoured car and tank in one go :smiling3:

I like the heavy Pak idea, only reversed with the JS2 & CY100 as a recent victims in city rubble. PaulE

Hi John
With your new found interest and expertise with figures how about the pushing soviet soldiers and the truck. I know it has been done before but a chance for mud and I am sure you would do a cracking job.

Hi back again, going to have to get a new computer, this one is so slow now and old, bit like the owner. The dreaded W10 is looming. why they can't leave things alone , I was quite happy with 95 until I had a new model with 7 .

Thanks for the numerous suggestions from all you all, Mike , Jakko , Paul E & Paul aka Scottie and Jim.

Going to have a think, and have a look into a couple of boxes before the decision is reached.
I shall be back later , with some reasons then .
John.

You're lucky if you missed 8! 10 is not too bad, but needs a lot of space.

Another vote here for the flamethrower!

Hang on a minute - is this a model making forum or the I.T. Class of '78?
(That's 1878!!) :smiling3: :smiling3::smiling3::smiling3:

John - I say build them all, as Steve Jones says above - one long street scene, abandoned vehicles/ tanks/ guns/ civilians/ soldiers/ wrecked houses - you may even have space for the Ann Summers shop next to the burnt out bakery!!

Paul.
