I got this cheap off fleabay just something to 'throw' together, turns out it's actually a really nice little kit, I think someone who knows how to build a plane properly( not me lol) could do something really nice with it, good detail, engine cowling can be left removable and top of the cockpit as well, lots of detail inside.20210508_235712.jpg20210508_235614.jpg20210508_235508.jpg20210508_235126.jpg

I'm not much of a "wingy" guy Mark but it looks like you are doing a pretty good job so far........and yeah, the cockpit looks the "dogs". Keep it coming. :thumb2: Rick H.

This is a rebox of the Eduard Weekend model. You can get the Eduatd PE bits to really dress it up. Revell have reboxed several of the Eduard WWI 1/48 models, including the Sopwith Camel, Fokker Dr.I. Albatros D.III & Roland C.II, they don't seem to be produced in large numbers, and price compares favourably with the Eduard originals. They do appear at very good prices on ebay & pre-owned sites, well worth a look.

That does look like a nice kit, but then Dave points out, it's an Eduard.
Everything looks very nice. When I'm building a bi-plane, I find it easier to paint and decal the fuselage, wings etc all separately before the actual construction part. I know that sounds totally wrong, but it works for me.

I'm still a relative novice when it comes to model making so I haven't sussed out the best way to do anything yet, have got the underside of the wings painted now with no problem so a bit of masking and should be good to do the rest.

There isn't any one way, Mark - it's going to be the method that you are most comfortable with, after a few models you'll find it! With biplanes, I generally finish the fuselage, then paint the lower wing top surface, and the upper wing lower surface before adding the wings - I like to rig biplanes, and this reduces the amount of tricky painting. If, however, like the Fokker DVII, it's covered in lozenge decals, you have to wing it!
