.1/10 young miniature bust roman signifer

TODAY I will start my covid-19 quarantine bust. I have been out of work now for two weeks and no end in sight. finished up the aircrewmen. and moving into uncharted space with this one. again everything is painted with acrylics. and just got a few things done . I am trying the metal modulation technique (its a base with several layers of red yellow blue green inks to give it the look of worn metal.) . I you tubed it lol. only painted a horse /35 and a dog 1/35 before so this bear skin will be a challenge. Still got a few more browns to go on the bear but I like it to that point. just got a few pics too post tonight. hope you all like them.

Lovely work on the bearskin Rick. I'll be very interested in seeing how you get on with the non-metallic metallic method - something I've never tried and am frankly scared of.

Nice work on the bear. It looks a great sculpt as well. Like Peter I’ve never tried the NMM technique. I always think it photographs well, but is less convincing when seen in the round. Mind you, I’ve not yet found a really good acrylic metallic paint range either. There are always one or two in a range that are not as consistent as the others.....

thank you gents for the nice words. the bearskin took most of one painting day but really liked how it turned out.

Peter I decided to try it (what the heck ) I read and watched some stuff on it. so far NMM don't look to bad. not as shiny as the others ive seen but im happy with it. takes a lot of washes (ALOT) then a few spots of thicker areas for depth and contrast but im stuck at home anyway so I said what the heck. seen some of the NMM with reflections of trees in them WOW.

Tim you are correct i need to buy the real metallics and inks but kinda pricey. i also agree it looks a little better in photos ,but it would also look at home on armor better i feel. acrylic metals are not the way to go but I didn't have any so I tried these.

Steve i think the 2 meters is light. i am from good ole Missouri U.S.A. a few more meters than that lol. we should be safe lol

Richard48 i looked at alot of photos ,and when i started the detail i walked away when i wanted to drybrush the high lights on lol. came back when the patience had returned.

Hello everyone ,hope all is well and safe. I have tried the NMM and really not sure if I managed to pul it of. I also took my exacto knife and made a cut on his right cheek . will do more on the face and eyes but calling thee armor done.

thank you Peter. I think it would have looked better if I would have started with darker color first. but it is finished now lol. I will learn more next time I do it lol.

thank you Steve's . im sure its not right but it looks ok for my 1st try. I have stalled on this bust as I messed up the face. rewashing it and starting it over .

This looks excellent. The NMM has come out really well..looks like campaign armour rather than the chrome plated version sometimes seen....

thanks gentlemen with all your kind words. been off work for awhile due to this virus thing. so I was hoping to et caught up on some painting. NOPE wife had a to do list longer than the house . So this has sit on the bench for about a month. today I did manage to slap some paint on it. the pole and the head are almost complete and added more highlights to the red. also finished the cheek shields ( I really like the look of them). hope you like the process.
