Great progress Si. Love it.

That crane & the fuel tank. Very nice indeed superb effects.

Take it Si you have manufactured the stanchions for the guard rail.

Looking better and better Si.

Cheers Tim, so far so good.

Hi Si
That's very good and all made from bits and pieces. Very skilled to build from scratch.
Jim

Thank you Jim, to scratch build is to not think about something that has to be 100%, until you know how to do that, I like just throwing stuff together and see what works and what doesn't. Barry the

Laurie

Thank you Laurie, I wanted a used, worn look but not rusted to bits, something subtle.

I managed to find the stanchions in a bits box, left overs from when I did model boats, glad I did not get rid of them.

Thanks John, she is taking shape. Arthritis playing up at the moment so going to let that settle down a bit.

UPDATE

Finished the other stanchions and started on some painting and started on the weathering, just top deck so far.

I have also done some barrels as cargo, painted but need weathering.

She is called Joanne-my wife, a boat/ship has to have a name right? After thinking about it I realised that my wife's name is on a old, battered, rusty barge...I could be living in the workshed soon.

Still loads to do.

UPDATE

I have managed to do a load of weathering over a couple days and, nearly added this to the completed section...then I realised, there still is some bits to finish off before I call this done.

I have greyed the blackwork, weathered the lower hull with a mixture of greens, sanded back then rusted. Finished wiring the other set of stanchions and painted the wire. I did the same for the top structure as I did for the hull but, not as pronounced in rusting etc, I used a spot technique-a toothpick and just dipped and dotted-took forever LOL.
Made a tarpaulin and weathered that, repainted a plastic basket and added some coal/briquette stuff, added a mobile generator-made this ages ago from my old inhaler parts.
Then I did the cargo, painted and weathered some resin barrels and made some sacks.

It has been all sealed with a matt varnish.

90% finished I reckon with just some small detail parts to do, I will leave her now for all the paint and varnish to fully go off and harden.

The rust looks brighter than it is as due to the flash on the camera.
