I bought this from a good friend of mine who owned a Hobby Shop in St.Louis Mo. Sorry I can not take credit for the cargo bed it was in this state when I bought it. The kit is a Revell old Renwal 1/32 5 ton truck once was a wrecker. I plan on making some
improvements to it and to the bed as well. I’m calling this one a Kaiser but other manufacturers made the same truck. Hope you come along for the ride.620A4303-F35E-4D89-8D56-8E37F4A22B75.jpegF36E220A-3BC8-4282-875F-BC9B312762AC.jpeg49E6729A-5E38-4891-977A-6C40D80BDC8E.jpegDF42E8DB-0914-40A4-A663-E95E49E8C892.jpeg47DA0669-E0B7-4C6E-9360-F2DDB7F5D284.jpeg

Here’s a small update. I reshape the hood to a more accurate look and drilled out the headlights also. This process will be done when the gril is ready to install47B870B8-39BC-4B2E-BCBA-BD5F45B42591.jpeg6C5B7AEC-3F7C-4AEE-86EE-09FA72620073.jpeg87BD372D-7639-4F29-8400-EB7D7FBB602C.jpeg0BCA8590-E314-4A31-BCFF-6B54E32CC5D8.jpeg511375DF-B327-4860-920B-E4324E9BF392.jpeg454A7B57-0234-40A8-A5F5-A5FE091FB60D.jpegAA3B4BF7-F8D4-44AB-B11B-AD5CBDBF94C2.jpegE5FA38B2-551F-44CB-B9D2-0376E5027045.jpeg58279972-2315-41FB-992B-B5CDB03E69B7.jpeg

The windshield has to much of a slant so I corrected it and lowered the top it was to high in the back77CDE3DE-7A4D-46C7-A0CE-105BD1E35821.jpeg263043AB-94A3-47A3-A930-799A5F764557.jpegB95098F6-7B22-41CE-9280-3FB5AEC0E02E.jpeg

Worked on the frame a little tonight. Filed the ends as square as I could then glued them together. I left 2 Super glue drops where I let the glue go down in between the frame rails when this drys I will file the top of the frame rails the glue will be more support when filed flat as it’s becomes part of the frame. Going to let this set up before I file anymore and add the support patches to it. 4A2A6F4E-A3EC-4B23-8E23-3ECF09E31775.jpegAE485525-103F-4F5B-B0F7-BDD7061ED7A7.jpeg86A568B4-847E-47C5-9961-31864BC5498F.jpeg5806B819-930E-4C34-9B7F-604AFA66F058.jpeg6084925F-D354-480A-B778-D5A15C506DA0.jpeg

Did someone saw that chassis in half or does it come like that in the kit? It seems a very odd thing to have to butt-join.

Rick. Thanks for the complement the frame has been a nuisance for years but I think I got it this time

Jakko. As you see in the preview picture it’s a glue bomb I bought it in the condition in the pictures this is not a fresh kit the frame was broke when I bought it

Steve. Thanks for stopping by and the complement. Taking my time and working gently with this old brittle kit. Someone not me built the bed and did a good job but sadly not accurate going to do my best to fix it

That’s why I asked: I was wondering if the previous owner had done this, or if the kit was moulded with the chassis in two halves.

Hi Lee
Always very satisfying to turn something unpromising at the start into something unique. You're relying on your own skills and planning. So far so good :thumb2:
