Thought I would start the New Year off with a new project. My wife bought this for me for Christmas and I just couldn’t wait to get working on it. The top is a Black Dog resin Conversion it is nice but I thought it was a little to wide so I narrowed it down and also thinned it. Enjoy the pics 3B75DDA7-C92A-4CF1-9997-5254387F8157.jpeg2D55F903-035A-479D-9245-2346655291C9.jpeg8E23CBD2-E1DC-4341-8029-427B0AE8CAAB.jpegB8F3C953-1094-44F1-BDD1-6D80D24EFDCA.jpeg1FB1F51F-0F63-4D82-8DDB-BBE26050CFDB.jpeg249F88A1-17C2-467C-8CE9-A76A747DB6CF.jpegFBB64DD1-2369-4652-818A-72940D258269.jpeg

That's a nice looking 251 C Lee. I'm sure you will do a fine job on it.

Hi Lee
An unusual variant. Not seen it done before so it will be interesting.

A cunning way to avoid doing all the interior detail!:smiling5::smiling5:
You’ve taken the words right out of my textbox :smiling3: When I read the title (BTW, isn’t this in the wrong subforum?) I thought he was going to convert the interior to ambulance configuration, but with a tarp over it, that tricky bit isn’t necessary.

Incidentally, an Sd.Kfz. 251 ambulance is a 251/8, not /1 :smiling3:

Rick. Thanks I hope I can get it to look decent

Jim. Thanks for stopping by

Steve. I was hoping I could get the interior converted but the top would not work with me staying flat after I sanded it and shaped it to fit I even put it in the microwave and reshaped it though I had it but the resin has so much memory it wouldn’t stay down. I might have the doors open just depends on how much you can see if it would be worth all that work and you see very little kinda like when you do a lot of detail and reworking on a model but it disappears when you paint it only you know what’s there

Jakko. Thanks I’ve changed the title

Think I’m going to stop here everything’s ready for paint decide to keep the doors close. Maybe I’ll make one with the tarp rolled back I would like to try to convert it and take the change. 0A4BDDE6-698B-4E3F-B1EE-E5F9088A7ED1.jpegDDD3397F-1F80-423F-84A7-3803F035237E.jpeg1323A3B6-CB12-4F14-8FD6-4F395C052673.jpegFD9483C7-376F-4F5F-8954-DC60801B79B4.jpeg735BBB60-BF24-4BA6-AB77-224CDDE0C007.jpeg32D6794A-869E-4104-B3F4-7CDEDA66806B.jpeg

The interior is quite different from the standard 251/1. Here’s my 1/72 wargames model conversion of an Ausf. D to show the very basics:

Peter. Thanks I enjoy upgrading these old kits and changing them around

Rick. Thanks I plan on adding some “buckles” for the tying the tarp down and a 55 gallon barrel on the right side if it looks right.

I have arrived with emergency supplies of biscuits!! .

Where's the winter camo Lee!!. I thought we had an understanding about the finish.:smiling5::smiling3::smiling2:

Seriously though the build is looking good. Will there be red cross insignia on her at all?

Thanks for the biscuits mate. I think Lee is playing his cards close to the vest.
I'm patiently waiting to be pleasantly surprised by what comes next.
Cheers, Rick H.:smiling3:
