Just finished building this FW190A-4.I made it straight out of the box with no extras and finished it as a machine flown by Hermann Graf with 202 victories to his name. The model was painted with Xtracolour enamels and given a light wash with the Florymodels washes.I then gave it a final coating with Valejo matt clear.I've used the Valejo stuff twice now and this time i sprayed far too much on the port wing upper surface. Then i wiped some off and went over it again. It looked horrible whilst wet but dried perfect!.Seems to be idiot proof and i love the stuff!.My Humbrol enamel matt clear has been chucked in the bin where it belongs. Looks great Dave, you seem to have captured the 190's stance very well and the paintwork looks immaculate. I've never had much luck with Vallejo's flat finish but your results speak for themselves so maybe I'll give it another try. What do you thin it with?

I use Valejo's thinner about a 50/50 mix.Tony aka 'Yak Face' uses distilled water so i will try that in future. Thanks for all the nice comments lads.

Thanks Dave, I'll get myself some Vallejo thinners and give it a try.

Lovely build and a great finish,I do like a Fw190 and this is a real beauty.

I use the Vallejo varnishes too and they are pretty idiot proof.....just as well really!

Cheers

Steve
