This is probably my favourite build so far. Nice sized aircraft and went together like a dream. Lots of detail and a choice of model in the kit. I was surprised to see it was used in the Vietnam war as its top speed is only 286mph but it carried a formidable bomb and weapons load for its ground attack role

Kept pictures to a minimum early on but I am very, very happy with the finished ones. Added a bit of grubbiness to it as it was just a bit too "clean". Hopefully I got it right.

Interesting size against the WWII aircraft as it's a lot bigger which is fair enough. Lovely chunky aircraft with the pilot sitting high up

Thanks all.

It's a beast of an aircraft and must have flattened acres of ground with each payload. As a model it really was a pleasure to build and paint. I can strongly recommend it

Lovingly referred to as "The Flying Dump Truck." Is one of my faves. Beautiful work. Looks like 15 hardpoints would have qualified it as a medium bomber in WWII. PaulE

Hauled it's own weight in ordnance........not many that can do that. Largest single engine "bird" I ever taxied. Scared the you know what out of me. Absolutely a great job on this one Gary.

Lovely build Gary, one of my favorite aircraft too although I haven't built any. I have two in the stash, Monogram(Korea) and Tamiya(Vietnam). Obviously I will have to scribe the panels on the older Monogram kit. The Spad can claim to be one of the few piston engined planes to have shot down a jet during the Vietnam war and one of the longest career as a single engine fighter and ground support aircraft.

Cheers,
Richard

'Sandys' when escorting rescue choppers were the early version of the A10. Much loved by the infantry & downed pilots. Carried a big punch and flew low & slow for accurate delivery. PaulE

Beautiful. Ask Tony how he cured his hiccups, it might help.
