rear brake and wheel parts, rear brake caliper and parts painted and ready for assembly, I used molotow liquid chrome pump marker pen on the caliper bolts and for touching up the chrome on various other bits, thought I would try it and see what it was like, pretty good finish, tried other paint before but this is the best so far !

I must admit Harleys aren't my thing , although I rode my mate's Fat Boy and was surprised how fast it was ! . You are obviously Ray , with your forum handle .
I could fancy building this one though, as it does look fun !
Good work so far ........SAM_1978.JPG

Hi, getting back on the forum I noticed this item, I remember these Harley cop bikes when i was young, maybe a misspent youth I can't quite remember lol, till i came to the UK in 1979, can't wait to see it finished.

thanks, glad you like it, its a well detailed model . bought this in the eighties but never started it ! they even put brake pads in for the calipers which once completed you cant see the pads ! as you can see from my profile picture I have a 1977 electra glide so it makes it easier for me to get on with the kit, as the instructions are a bit unclear in places , having a bit of trouble with the fork legs at the moment, paint keeps going wrinkly . its been degreased rubbed down, primed a few times but still wrinkles will get it sorted sometime or other ! I hope !

Sure you'll get it sorted, now I'm back into modeling I find I make mistakes but unlike years ago there is materials to help. I have to visit Uppingham every now and then and it's good to see the Harleys there, dealer, unfortunately I cant get back on bikes, my wife won't allow it, in hospital once to often the last time was in Spain forgot to give way on the roundabout and I took a tumble over his hood.

Hi, I make Euro cars and US lorries primarily with US cars sometimes, I like funny cars, all in various scales although I do try to keep to smaller scales, 1/24 etc, I also makes dioramas for some of them. I have got some toon tanks to do, I saw them on here and they look quite cool so thought it might make a change. My painting style is work in progress having only been back into modeling for about a year, my trouble is I want to get on and build but painting slows me down, I'm trying to get into staging the painting in blocks and see how that goes.
What other models do you do ?

not long got back into modelling, years ago I used to make at least one a week, planes, cars ships bikes you name it I probably made it !, not long finished a wooden model of the titanic, that's in completed ships and submarine section under the name r.m.s titanic, also completed a 1/6 scale revell kit of 1934 rolls Royce for a friend which is in completed civilian car section, in the middle of doing this harley now which is for myself ! also started a while back a merit 1/18 scale 88mm anti aircraft / tank gun but have no pictures of that, will have to take a few sometime, not getting much time to do much modelling as im looking after the wife who is ill at the moment. have a look at all the pics in the sections I mentioned and let me know what you think !
