Picked up this little combo kit as I love Cold War Era birds.

Its a pretty basic kit with not many parts but this will be my first attempt at a Metal Finish. No after market items so will be a build from the box.

For anyone who has painted the yellow on these before what yellow did you use? Think I will try and paint the bands rather than decal them

Progress so far....living room painted a little heavy with the orange

all joined up and have to say the joint quality is very good for such a simple kit, no fillers needed...

That is looking very nice. Just an idea with the metal finish, I like to go really shiny, silly shiny, then slowly dull it down, just to the point I'm happy.

Made a little goof in not using the gloss black primer. Metal coat on now and going to apply some shading to the panels here and there

you can see that I'm still too light on the trigger being too cautious as I don't want to flood so ending up with the grainy finish in the pic above
