Finally got the nerve to paint the cargo. This has been one of my worst fears about the whole project so here it is I tried my best. After painting I gave it a brown grime wash please be gentle 93D6A853-01FF-46BA-80D4-B3CABAFE898D.jpeg9AC7C82B-08BD-4D41-A6BA-8672751B5D6C.jpegBEE2589D-99A5-4B8C-AB55-D9E0AE4961A7.jpegEDC7C0BF-91CE-4D75-BB21-0CC4496857CA.jpeg78C194A8-E245-495B-9C30-A33F0AAA7F8F.jpegA5FB8B20-39FA-4943-B89B-5C3FD88ECB5E.jpegC7311C5F-50CA-49E2-9848-667DA94B1C03.jpeg8D15DC18-977F-4071-8B5B-25DBBF01A7B9.jpeg

Hi Lee, thanks for pm .

Managed to get this tablet working again, hence the slow reply until now .
My word love that paint finish, what have you used? . The cargo looks just fine , always a wording time after all the work with the build .
Off for tea now, back later .
John.

Lee, That Acar is the Bomb!! I wish they made one that crisp in 1-87 scale I'd be all over it. The so-so one that is available is an arm and a leg! I have a brand new still in the bubble pack Minitanks version of the stake bed trailer just waiting for the right model tractor to come along. My hat's off to you pard, that is a great result and looking forward to the finish. Rick H.

For your particular trailer I believe they are mounted alongside the outside of the frame rails just a scootch in from the end. They often mounted reflectors on straps hanging down from the rear edge close to the outside edges of the cargo bed. Might I suggest an old model RR trick of faux text on the boxes. You need a very fine point marker & a straight edge. Dots for lower case & short verticle strokes or bigger dots for caps along the straight edge. PaulE

But I don’t think my eyes and hands are up to that. I have some HO decals that you can’t make out what it says I might do that

Lee, another way to represent tail lights is to drill holes of that approximate size in the sheet metal piece at the rear of the cargo bed at the distance apart that would put the lights at the outside of the frame rails. A very simple solution I've used in the past. PaulE
