This is an Academy 1/72 Bf109 of 3/JG54 flown by Lt. Wuebke during the German Balkan Campaign.

I don't know if the Jasta markings are historically accurate or not, I just followed the instructions and gleaned what I could about the cammo from Steve's (stona) great pictures....

Thanks for all your help, Steve.

As usual, all brush painted using a mixture of Vallejo Model Colour acrylic and Humbrol Enamels. It was great fun and a challenge painting the strange cammo. I didn't know such a design existed until Steve posted a picture on here. I just had to have a crack at it.

I hope you like my effort at copying the distinctive markings.

Cheers,

Ron

Very nice Ron. I think I've said before that the germans seem to have cornered the market in 'alternative' camo schemes ! And here, you show us another example - what a job dreaming up all these schemes.

Regards

Colin M........

Thanks for the feedback boys.

It was a pig to do but I did get a buzz out of managing a reasonable stab at it.

There are quite a few different cammos for the Balkans. Steve (stona) sent me a picture of one scheme that is just unbelievable.....Watch this space! lol

Cheers,

Ron

Well Ron I was flicking through Eric Mombeek's "Luftwaffe gallery No 1",as you do, and I've found another good one, with a profile, which may be up your street. I'll send you a PM when I get a chance.

These are great little booklets, Mombeek has some amazing images not previously published.I've got No2 on the way and I've no idea what is in it!

Cheers

I'll go along with that Trey. Here's a picture of a similar machine from the same unit to compare. "No Smoking" a nice re-fuelling dio for someone here!

Cheers

Well Ron, after my "Normandy Build" fiasco i lost me mojo. I'm back though (i hope lol), i've been working on a Centaur C.S. Mk.IV of the Royal Marines just to make up for it.

Have fun, John
