To take my mind off that bl**y fork lift truck I started this which is a totaly new concept for me, 1/72 scale, and it's tiny compared to my usual builds.

The clear parts and cab come in separate bags.

PE and decals.

And a nice instruction book.

I did take some close up shots of the sprue detail but they seem to have got lost in the depths of my laptop. More to follow.

Andy,

Welcome to the one true scale!!! With Comrade Race and now you dabbling in 1/72, it seems my plan to convert the whole forum are starting to bear fruit!!!! ;) :smiling5: :smiling5:

Ok now my attack of megalomania has passed I will be interested to see what you think of it.

I've done one ModelCollect AFV - a T90 - and that went together very well and I have one if their German AA guns in the stash too

Good luck with the build.

ATB.

Hi Andy
That looks a very nice kit. I like 1/72 scale. Many of the newer 1/72 kits have great detail and cost much less than 1/35. Much easier to display as well especially if included in a dio. Sounds as if your enjoying it.

I got the chassis completed and a few bits painted.

I know the chassis is not meant to be black but I wanted some contrast. Strange thing is, the model on the box lid shows it with the hydraulic crane as does the cover of the instructions but there is no mention of it in the booklet it just shows how to build the one shown below

To further confuse things there is a sprue in the box with all the parts for the crane so a quick look on Scalemates got me the instructions for the model with the crane so that is what I will build, albeit with the crane in the stowed position as I do not want it extended as such a large model will take up too much space. ;)

See, my campaign is working!!! ;)
Not so fast buster….I thought your gaming stuff was 20mm? If so, I think that’s closer to 1/76 :smiling5: 1/72 is the scale for 25mm figures (1 inch being equivalent to six feet)…..mind you, gaming scales are so elastic it’s really hard to tell……:tongue-out3:

Nearly there, now I have to make sure all those wheels touch the ground which will not be easy as there is so much slack between the axles and the wheel hubs. I was going to do a camo paint job but my fine airbrush skills at this scale need a bit more practise but I found a picture of one in US army service which was just green, that will do for me!

I should have this done by the weekend if no other distractions come along, spent about 3 hours tonight helping my son to strip and rebuild the Ohlins electric front forks on his Ducati Multistrada 1200S to get it ready to go to the IOM for theTT race week.

Kinda late in on this Andy and you've really been doing a great job. Of course, being so small, this is a nicely detailed kit for sure. A bit too small for me, but I still can enjoy your build! Please excuse me for a second Sir.......

Wheels on and all touching the ground, put on a bit of steering lock to help the look, hopefully.

A few bits to fit to the cab, put the spare wheel carrier on, maybe a few touch ups and that will be about it.
