Hi guys, this is my latest build, Academy Models 1/72 P-51D Mustang "Bunnie".

It hasn't turned out as nice as I would have liked and I tried a new way of weathering with pastel powdering but when I put the matt cote over the top it just turned to a liquid and spread everywhere, especially on the left wing. I made a major mistake with the undercarriage panels and painted them aluminium instead of red  which is annoying but I'd gone too far with the build to try and fix it.

My plan is to have 4 or 5 similar P-51's in flight on an airfix display mount so this one will serve as a good base to build the others :smiling3: 2016-03-31 10.04.58.jpg

Apart from what you mentioned(we all learn from our mistake's)A very nicely painted model.

However if you could do the same to the right wing I think it would look good(weathered is what the left wing looks like)

Agree with Ralph Dave, if you can dirty up that starboard wing it will look like it's been left grubby from servicing and endless action.

OK, you had a couple of problems, but it still looks good to me.
