I’m getting ready to paint my U boat.
If I do the pre shading, should I use black or a dark gray?
I primed it with a red oxide primer, and I have Tamiya NATO black
Or should I just do a pin wash

Hi Eric.
When I painted my 1/72 U Boat which I built on here recently, I didn't prime it.
I like to try and keep my paintwork simple. I neither used any pre-shading or pin wash, just thin layers of grey Vallejo Model Air applied with a large flat headed brush.

I hope others who have made this model come along with their own painting method.

I look forward to seeing the boat.

Ron

I'd try it on a piece of plastic card after you had prime it. The black may be ok , but as its in 1/72 might be too heavy a colour.

Rons methods works for him, as the pictures show.

Do show us your results.
John.
