This is a old Plaster Sheepscot Scale Products late 1950s Fruehauf Dump trailer I got from one of my long time friends George Barrett who is the owner of Sheepscot Models. Most of his kits are “ Craftsman” kits you have to build. You can go the short route or you can put as much detail as you like. I’ll be using different parts from other trailers as well as styrene strips and some Custom building. I’m going to try to get as much details as I can on this one so it will look nice on my layout at the Coal Yard. Then on to the Autocar DCU75 Truck that will be pulling it. 346A96F7-E4AD-403D-B871-E87462F5C218.jpeg89043A84-E06B-49A9-8264-2B076D01B343.jpeg6692D870-FD20-4CCE-AB88-62FA54CA58B4.jpegD02E9C2A-69B1-4D86-91BC-D6595CDC63DA.jpeg

Wow Lee, that baby is really dated I don't think this stuff has been available for years.....still got a couple of his catalog flyers around somewhere as well as the old Pennbay Decal flyers, if you needed decals back in the day. :smiling5: Should be nice when you get it finished up. You mentioned an Autocar tractor.....is that a Sheepscot as well or perhaps Sylvan Scale? ;) Rick H.

That's a nice piece of kit Lee. Looking forward to seeing it painted up and hooked up to a rig

Thanks Steve. Working with a plaster subject the plaster is not for giving if you mess up and super a piece to it. I’ve found that out many years ago building these kits of his. Thanks for stopping by and the complement.

More updates on the Trailer. I decided to remove the old plaster Tail gate by gently sanding this stuff is not forgiving and goes quick if you sand to hard. Then I replace it with one made out of Styrene strips to suit me better. I didn’t like the Dolly Legs (Landing Gear) so I replaced them with some Classic Metal Works ones I had in my parts bin. Looking good Lee. Plaster is an unusual medium for a model like that….must be quite heavy?
Thanks Tim for the complement. Yes it has some weight to it and it’s interesting to work with.

More progress on the Coal Trailer. Made the King Pin plate and Taillight/ Mudflats bracelets. I didn’t like the way the bare metal Axles were showing so I made a couple Axles out of some styrene channel that’s it for tonight 6FFDB864-F0DF-45FB-9E3E-E559FC103AA7.jpegEE4B5F10-58CF-4A82-A9C3-D5A3C2F21E01.jpeg7FB4C10C-D63E-47BD-ADFB-C3F81E974288.jpegC07586C1-8E0C-42B8-9B02-F9138CF51F87.jpeg28C4C5B1-AEEB-4258-ABC3-85BE81FF6FFA.jpegFA57E165-9188-4EC4-88E0-DEF91D8D9956.jpeg
