Hi All,
I found a pic of this MB. 4500 van that was converted to a Field Kitchen, I presume for use in inclement weather, hence the slightly worn winter camo.
I had a couple of left over van bodies from my last project so thought I'd put one to use on this little beauty. Here goes...

Thanks Scottie, There will be much cutting and splicing as the van body is too tall as well as too long. Also, it must be lowered down on the frame, as the rear fenders prevent that, the wheel house openings in the van body must be opened up so it can settle onto the frame.
hard to visualize so will update with some pics. soon. Cheers, Rick H.

I would suggest an asbestos suit anyway Lee, just in case JR is holding out on us! Glad you're liking it so far, another update coming soon.
Cheers and thanks for sitting in. Rick H.

Quite a bit of progress made on the van body. over all length had to be reduced and the van box was way too tall and the wheel arches had to be opened up to allow the van to settle down onto the truck frame. The van roof as well as the back doors also got the axe in order to make this work. More later. Rick H.P1011017.JPG

Well done Rick, some serious scrachery looking at the height difference.
The addition of the stove just confims what it is. Love it .

Thanks JR. Since the van doors are operational, it's the least I could do. I thought about a figure seated while peeling potatoes...might be a bit much.

Well it would be great, but at that scale is it feasible ? I'd say do it if you can.
