75cm German anti-tank gun 1:32 (Tamiya)

Just started a new kit which I saw a a ‘quickie’ but actually finding it just as involving as much grander kits.
It’s just a gun, 3 troopers and some shells........ how tough can it be? Quite as it turns out. Very detailed, several moving parts and troopers in 6 or more pieces too. Who new a £7 kit could be so involving?

Made a slow start on this one. Getting a move forward but very fiddly and much more involving than I bargained for. For the money it's a great kit.

Making good progress there. This is one of Tamiya’s older kits, but still looks quite good, IMHO, and not as fiddly as the Italeri counterpart that’s about as old.

If I may give a tip: the cartridge cases should probably be a metallic brown, rather than brass. By the time this gun came into use, the Germans had much more important uses for brass than making cartridge cases, so they used steel for them instead. That was then lacquered with a semi-translucent colour to prevent rusting. If you mix a medium brown and silver or aluminium you should probably get a decent colour for it, or paint them silver/aluminium and then apply a mixture of clear varnish and brown paint over it once dry.

This one has been all stuffed back into the box unfinished. Not enjoying it and I have a 1:24 Porsche 911 RSR calling my name so switched to that. Will come back at some point though.
