bought a while back so thought i would press on with the build on the performance bike but discovered the instructions are in Japanese!!!
so i cross referenced the standard kit and decided to build both at the same time not far ahead but one or two challenges to come me thinks,

Ok latest up date slow but I'm getting there,I have painted the following .....
engine on both kits both look ok just naked...
both sets of forks complete along with yokes chrome stripped and sprayed, use alloy x11 for the fork stems and on the performace model titanium gold, looks good but might be a bit early for this style of tube...
both wheel sets some other wee bits as well including 1 set of carbs coming together slowly but Rome wasn't and neither will these no headaches yet, but early days ....

Hi not as far on as i had hoped, no real issues just time....
couldn’t find a good russet red so bought some from Japan needless to say its still not here.... managed to get some from ebay via ireland and it has arrived and i have used it badly and ended up stripping everything back to repair the panels and tank so in the meantime i built up the 2 engines and fitted to the frames, lots of smaller parts are complete and once we have a hard paint i will Build up quite quickly i think but heading in the right direction...

Ok coming a long fine, couple of nippy bits or might be my fat-fingers and a lack of patience....
first off sprayed the tank russet red and clear coated it ended up covered in orange peel bit pissed but stripped reapplied all good stuck on the etched zephyr decals using super glue and one side was great other just slightly off so moved it shouldn't have, stripped tank and now pirmed again ready for next attempt this has been a real pain but onwards
second issue snapped the left fork just above the bottom yoke pined it and cemented back together might just be me but seems to be a lot of brittle parts? Even cutting away from sprues things have just broken away on both kit not just one, luckly the custom kit affords a load of spares so this has helped anyway some pictures of where i am and the next line up of painting hoping to hit all the chrome parts in a oner exhaus5 clocks bla bla bla and body work green for the special and RUSSET red for the standard hog tank only left to complete any question comments hugs kisses most welcome
stay safe and enjoy49B55B18-47CA-4BD2-AA89-AF359D68D400.jpeg1EB768E3-378A-499D-9BBA-93B67B806B39.jpeg4FDD028F-A726-4D8F-8F88-74DD85057306.jpegEACFBEFB-8256-499D-BBDC-A384F70E1BA5.jpeg49B55B18-47CA-4BD2-AA89-AF359D68D400.jpeg12994FA0-DBBB-471F-B721-234D6F1ABCE9.jpeg
