Finally finished my first ship.
It went together very well and all PE and metal parts were a pleasure to work with, a pricey kit but a lovely effect with the LED (although not to everyone's taste I'm sure!)

Thanks for all members that assisted and helped.

Well that turned out very well first ship or not.
And I think it looks fine with the lights even if they are a tad bright maybe.
Look forward to seeing the next ship off the slipway.

Ummm - not wishing to criticise, but surely the Titanic had BUFF funnels? The red funnels were associated with Cunard, the major competitor to the White Star line..................

Dave,

Not taken as a criticism at all, an observation.
When I first delved into colour scheme and what to use...well...what a minefield.

I touched on it in the 'Ships under construction' thread basically my research revealed opinions were too much, many state buff, but then others stated a toned down orange...in the end it was a bit too much tbh as I just needed to know the basic colour scheme to do her justice.

In the end I returned to Academy colour scheme and ordered all the colours as suggested by Academy from Scale Model Shop.

I'm not too fussed if it isn't bang on as I am a modeller who is a work in progress!

I was happy to build her as it was very much out of my comfort zone but I blame Wifey for that!

The LEDs are bright, but at least you can turn them off!

This was a quick build, however I spent full days on her being off for last week....if I'd not had the week off I'd still be on the first deck!

I did build the iceberg but I can't find it.

On a side note I think I need a plumber as I found a wet patch on my carpet.

Del.

Thank you Chris, I await the switch, in the meantime I simply remove a battery!

Onwards and upwards!

That’s a great job for your first ship. Good job on the rigging, not easy at any time! Love the fourth and fifth shots especially, they really show off the cabin lights nicely.
