Thanks chaps, glad you like him.

Hector. Box contents and cleaned up for painting:

The armour will all be done in shades of steel in order to contrast with Achilles.

Nice to see Brad being finished Peter. And I like the fact that you adapted it slightly to make it less Hollywood and more historical. Well done! Looking forward to see Hector painted.

Cheers

Thanks Wouter. 'Troy' was really a martial arts film - they all run around like ninjas, flying through the air and doing somersaults in front of the enemy - ridiculous.

Wow, this is not something I’m going to attempt any time soon but these look great, fantastic detail. True art.

Lovely work, well finished and subtle changes to correct the sword too.

I guess Hector will be another metal festival, without the tinnitus LOL

They should make an interesting pair for the cabinet, a Hollywood corner?

Still raining here, and at least The Road has been more or less completed

Have a good day with Hector, hopefully Crystal tips wont be jealous LOL

Regards

Carl - Many thanks. Never too early to start painting busts.....

Steve - Already got a Brad, Russell and two Seans in the cabinet, so yes, these will join them. I'm nervous of Hector's armour as it's very detailed and will be hard not to clog. Don't mention tinnitus - another of my little problems. It's got to the point now when I need to seek medical advice. I've been once, but got referred to a hearing aid specialist by a locum, which is not what I need. Sunny and very windy here, but no rain.

John and Nick - very pleased that you like him

Hector's head:

This was stripped down and re-painted three times before getting to this stage. My initial attempt didn't allow for the helmet enough as the shadows didn't read correctly once I fitted it. I then had a couple of goes putting the helmet on and off as I went along and finally realised that it was going to need quite a high-contrast approach, as here. It will have to do anyway as I ain't painting it again.

Looks Good as there doesn't seem to be that much on show once the helmet is in place.

The shadowed cheeks will be well covered by the helmet and needed the the deeper contrast.

Your artistic license is still valid, well done

There is quite a lot of metal work to do today!

Though its all going to be the same both helmet and body.

The weather is still grim, another day in paradise, NOT!

Good for the paints if nothing else.

A full week for me even with a shorter day, but plenty of time to scribe between little bits of admin whilst waiting to get a live phone line

Enjoy the metal, I am sure it will be another masterclass
