Hi,
This is another completed build with the same batch as the Horsa and Stirling done years ago. I will post the build blog in the construction section as soon as I can sort the pictures out in sequence.

I really had fun adding the details. Other 1/24th scale in my stash that I haven't started are a P-51, FW190, Stuka and a Trumpeter Hurricane. The decals for the three Airfix kits are near right-offs similar to the BF109.

Cheers,
Richard

Very nice work! I just finished the same kit a few days ago, and I must admit that I am a bit envious.:smiling: Splendid work, and your additional attention to detail really did the trick! Cheers!

Thank you Ian, Marius, Jim and John B...glad you like it. I can see why there is a trend to building large scaled models. Once finished it's awesome to hold and this particular kit undercarriage is foldable, the canopy as well. The only downside is space...I'm wondering if I get to do the Stuka it's got to be mounted on the wall. I've started on the Focke Wulf and it has a nice engine to detail up but I might just leave it outside to be detailed when the planets line up in the solar system. :smiling6:

I will though get the build blog up soon for the BF109.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard, that's a great looking BF109! Love the attention to detail. and 1/24, that must be huge :O I did a 1/32 in the past and I thought that one was gigantic already!
Which E variant is it btw? Always interested to know :P :D

Huge it is Wouter, this variant is the E-3 with the older cockpit frame. The kit came with the squarer frame for the E-4. The kit was missing the armour behind the seat.

Ah cool, think I built the E-4, flown by Adolf Galland.

Cool, thanks for the info!

Thanks Steven, the BF109 always looks nice with the yellow nose scheme.

That's a very nice "yellow nosed <<battle of Britain quote>>" you have there.

You made a cracking build there Richard. Even though it's an old kit i'd say you've done it massive justice. Love it.
